Hot Dog Cakepops

I made these pops for a fundraising carnival event this week along with the Clown CakepopsPopcorn Cakepops and Peanut Cakepops!

Each hot dog was made with yellow cake and vanilla frosting rolled into balls then split into thirds; 1/3 was made into a log shape (hot dog) and 2/3 was made into a “U” shape (hot dog bun) around the log shape so they fit perfectly. I dipped both entirely into light brown candy melts, then painted the hot dog portion with a food safe paintbrush using a dark red-brown candy melt mixture. I then piped mustard over the hot dog using yellow candy melts in a piping bag.
