Clown Cakepops

I made these pops for a fundraising carnival event this week along with the Hot Dog CakepopsPopcorn Cakepops and Peanut Cakepops!

Each clown was made with yellow cake and vanilla frosting rolled into balls and dipped in white candy melts. Mini m&m noses and trimmed ice cream cone hats were then added immediately. Regular m&ms were attached to the tip of the hats and lifesavers were attached to the bottom for shirts. Eyes and mouths were then added using black and red candy melts with a toothpick. The hair was also made using red candy melts and a toothpick — I kept tapping the candy melts as they were drying to leave a messy spikey-hair-like texture.
